In the year 2007, environmental goods made up more than 5 percent of total industrial goods production in Germany. The environmental goods market is shaped by small and medium-sized enterprises. Roughly 60 percent of the turnover in environmental goods was brought up by companies that have less than 250 employees. Almost half of the companies are in the service sector.
