VDE, the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies, is one of the largest technical and scientific associations in Europe. Among others the responsibilities of the Association include the ongoing development of electrotechnology, electronics, and information technology, and their related technologies; supporting the use of electrotechnology and electronics in mechanical engineering, in manufacturing and process automation, transport and medical technology, etc ; the promotion of national and international transfers of technical knowledge. The VDE is represented throughout Germany on a regional basis by 29 regional societies.
The German Association of Consulting Engineers - VBI (Verband Beratender Ingenieure) is one of the leading associations worldwide for consultancy and engineering. VBI member companies always have an eye on the complete life-cycle of a project, from the planning through the use to dismantling and recycling. VBI is a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). One of the main topics of VBI is the field of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies. The "VBI Database of German Consultants" provides information on technical consultants or companies, which are specialized in energy consulting amongst others.
The BDA is an association of freelance architects and urban planners in Germany. Since its founding in 1903, the BDA has been committed to elevating and improving the function and meaning of architecture in service of society and the environment. One of the BDA’s particular strengths is its nationwide presence: Regional Associations in all 16 German states are supplemented by various regional subgroups.
The DIHK is the umbrella organization of the 80 German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs). The IHKs are the most important stakeholders of any enterprises in a region.

The association represents the interests of the leading manufacturers of windows, doors and fronts in Germany. The association supports its members with various services and strategies, in order to open new markets. This includes also the standardisation of test regulations and quality assurance on the European level.
The task of the BINE Information Service is to support the transfer of knowledge and information from energy research to practical application. To this end, BINE is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
Der WSM vertritt die wirtschaftspolitischen Interessen der Branche und ist einer der größten Wirtschaftsverbände in Deutschland. WSM ist Mitglied im Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI) und bei ORGALIME, dem europäischen Verband der Metallverarbeitung und des Maschinenbaus.
Der ZVO ist die Interessenvertretung der Galvanotechnik- und Oberflächentechnikbranche gegenüber Behörden und Politik. Zu seinen Mitgliedsverbänden gehören: der Bundesinnungsverband der Galvaniseure, Graveure und Metallbildner (BIV), die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik e. V. (DGO), der Fachverband Galvanisierte Kunststoffe e. V. (FGK), der Fachverband Industrieller Beschichter e.V. (FIB) und der Fachverband industrielle Teilereinigung e. V. (FiT).
Der Zentralverband des Deutschen Baugewerbes vertritt als Wirtschaftsverband die Belange der mittelständischen Bauunternehmen. Er fungiert zudem als Arbeitgeberverband und technischer Verband. Im ZDB sind bundesweit 34 Mitgliederverbände organisiert.
Bundesfachgruppen in den Bereichen Hochbau, Ausbau und Verkehrswegebau und mehrere Ausschüsse, u.a. für Umwelt und Technik, ergänzen das Dienstleistungs- und Beratungsangebot des ZDB.
A team of natural scientists, economists, political scientists and communication-specialists are working at the Climate Service Center. Their tasks are refining the knowledge derived from climate research in a practice-orientated way and conveying the findings to decision-makers in politics, administration, economy and for the broad public.
