Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) - Department of Aquatic Environmental Engineering

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, briefly referred to as KIT, combines the tasks of a university of the state of Baden-Württemberg with those of a research center of the Helmholtz Association in the areas of research, teaching, and innovation. The department of Aquatic Environmental Engineering develops the basis  for a resource saving and energy-saving handling of wastewater and other organic residues of anthorpogenic activities. Based on this results, integrated and adapted solutions for wastewater and waste treatment in emerging and developing countries are designed and implemented. Another research focus is the monitoring and evaluation of pollution and pollution-reducing activities in the water circuit.
