Fuel Cell

Cones made from carbon - nanocones improve fuel cells

For fuel cells to deliver electricity, a catalyst is required to accelerate the chemical reaction between oxygen and hydrogen on the membrane. Researchers have succeeded in creating an extremely fine distribution of the precious metal platinum used in this process on tiny funnel-shaped carbon molecules. This makes fuel cells more affordable and economically viable. Further information is available in the German-language article.
