Innovative turbine generator to gain electricity from small quantities of process gas

With the turbine generator developed, electricity can be generated from previously unused process gases (exhaust gas). Thus, the turbine generator can be used for energy recovery when discharging from the gas grid or for biogas  and combined heat and power plants.

 

Summary

Each combustion engine can only use about one third of the energy input as mechanical work or for generating electricity. The remaining energy is lost as waste heat. The turbine generator converts unused energy from the exhaust gas into electrical energy.
The turbine generator is to produce electricity from small quantities of previously unused process gas in a power range of 3 kW to 120 kW without additional investment. This will increase the overall efficiency to over 45 %. Possible fields of application are wherever relevant quantities of hot air are released unused into the environment. For example, compressed cooling air in smelting plants or the expansion of natural gas when it is fed from high-pressure pipelines into municipal gas networks.
