Wind Energy

Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES)

The research activities of the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES) cover wind energy and the integration of renewable energies into energy supply structures. Fraunhofer IWES was established in 2009 as a merger of the former Fraunhofer Center for Wind Energy and Maritime Engineering CWMT in Bremerhaven and the Institute for Solar Energy Technology ISET in Kassel.

German Wind Energy Association (BWE)

The BWE is a nationwide association of operators and individuals who support wind energy. The BWE was founded as a merger of the Interessenverband Windkraft Binnenland e. V. and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Windenergie e. V. Apart from regional associations and country representatives in all countries the experiences and interests of special groups are bundled in advisory committees. At the moment there are advisory committees for: operators of wind turbines, manufacturers, lawyers in this field, planners, technical experts, and scientists working in this field.
