Principles of a process for the decontamination of hexogen/hexyl-contaminated groundwater and surface water from abandoned military sites using fungi
Of the fungi tested under laboratory conditions and in a pilot plant, certain species of deuteromycetes have proved to be particularly suitable for the degradation of compounds which are typically contained in explosives. The capacity of these fungi for the aerobic assimilation of nitrates has also been demonstrated.
