Energy-conserving white gold production

Sugar extraction is associated with high energy consumption, which can be substantially reduced by a newly-developed and non-thermal process for the breakdown of sugar beet cells using electroporation. Advances in high-power pulse technology allow the cost-effective application of this process for sugar recovery. The transfer of this technology to other sectors involving the industrial processing of plant materials will be pursued. Further information is contained in the brochure.
