New Corrosion Protection Method through Passivation of Metals with Polyaniline

The use of polyaniline as corrosion protection can prevent corrosion losses and replaces corrosion agents containing chromate, led oxide, and other harmful substances. The developed corrosion protection systems were subjected to accelerated corrosion in the lab, compared with leading and proven coating systems, and proved superior in all tests. A reduction of the coating thickness by 20 to 30 % compared with traditional systems was achieved as well. All products are already commercially available and a switch to the new product is expected in the near future (detail information in German).
