Hot-dip Galvanizing

Processing of Used Fluxes from Hot-Galvanising Workshops

A manufacturer of industrial chemicals has developed a procedure with which the valuable materials contained in the used fluxes can be almost completely recovered and the foreign materials - above all iron and organic impurities - can be separated quantitatively. With this procedure one receives a new fluxing agent solution from the used fluxes, which is again used in the galvanising workshops (closed-loop circulation by external processing). The waste avoidance potential and the cost-effectiveness of the new procedure depend on the iron content with which the flux solution was rejected in the galvanising workshops before the conversion.
