Integrative management of drinking water dams - Incorporation of extreme events

Reconciling the numerous usage demands for drinking water dams is exceedingly complex. At times, heavy rain after dry periods can impair drinking water treatment. The project partners are studying events of this kind in terms of their influence on water stratification and the quality of the untreated water. They are also developing methods that can be used to incorporate these issues into water volume management.
