Modelling particle transport in drinking water distribution systems

Methods for assessing drinking water quality in distribution systems have previously been developed with regard to chlorine concentration and microbial pollution. There is still a need for research on the issue of turbidity due to particulate substances, an the project partners are addressing this by developing a dynamic transport model for amorphous particulate compounds. This enables flushing measures to be planned more effectively.
