New detection process for Toxoplasma gondii in untreated water and drinking water

The process developed by the project facilitates simultaneous detection of toxoplasma, cryptosporidii and giardia in water. Besides patients with suppressed immune systems, toxoplasma is harmful primarily to unborn children. Expanding water-borne parasite analysis to also include detection of Toxoplasma gondii is therefore an important contribution to the assessment of drinking-water-related pathogens.
